The guest portal is the personal stay page a guest opens for their booking, and the room page a QR code in the room opens. You write what guests read on the property’s Guest portal section, and any room-specific Wi-Fi or directions under Rooms.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- You need the Account owner, Manager or Property manager role. Editing the content, and creating or regenerating a QR code, need the right to edit the property; reading a room’s code needs the right to open the app. Service staff have neither.
- The property must already exist. Open it for editing and choose Guest portal in the section list.
Write what guests see
Section titled “Write what guests see”- Under What guests see, fill in the fields you want guests to see. Guests see these on their personal stay page. Wi-Fi, house rules and checkout instructions also show on the room page the in-room QR code opens. Leave a field empty to hide it.
- Enter Wi-Fi network name and Wi-Fi password. Shown on the stay page and on the room page. Shown in plain text next to the network name, so guests can copy it. The network name holds up to 64 characters and the password up to 128. A password needs a network name: without one the form shows Add the network name too. Guests only see a password together with its network..
- Write Arrival directions. Shown on the stay page with the address. Directions for a specific room follow this text.
- Write Parking instructions. Shown on the stay page with the address.
- Write House rules. Shown on the stay page and on the room page.
- Write Checkout instructions. Shown on the stay page and on the room page, under the checkout time. Each of the four text fields holds up to 4000 characters. Past that, the form shows Use 4000 characters or fewer.
- Select Save changes. Clearing a field and saving hides it from guests.
These fields are separate from the text your channels show: saving them does not change what a booking site displays.
Give one room its own details
Section titled “Give one room its own details”A property with several rooms can change the Wi-Fi and the arrival directions for a single room.
- Choose Rooms in the section list and open the room.
- Open the Guest portal block. A room that is not saved yet shows Wi-Fi and arrival details for guests can be added once this room is saved. instead, so select Done, then open the room again.
- Fill in Room Wi-Fi network and Room Wi-Fi password. Replaces the property's Wi-Fi for guests in this room. Leave empty to use the property's. Shown together with this room's network name. The network and password always go together: a room with its own network never shows the property’s password.
- Fill in Extra arrival directions. Added after the property's arrival directions for guests in this room, for example the floor and which door. Guests read the property’s directions, a blank line, then the room’s.
- Select Done. The room’s details save straight away.
The room’s network and password use the same limits as the property’s: 64 and 128 characters, and 4000 for the directions.
Print a QR code for each room
Section titled “Print a QR code for each room”Under Room QR codes every room has a row. Print one card for each room. Scanning it opens the room page: Wi-Fi, house rules, checkout and your contact details, and, while the Guest portal link automation is on, a button that emails the current guest their own stay link. A room has no code until you first download, print or preview one: its row says No code yet. It is created the first time you download, print or preview it..
- On the room’s row, select Download PNG to save the code as an image, or Print card to open the browser’s print dialog with the card alone.
- To see the room page a guest gets, select Preview room page. If the browser blocks the new tab, the row shows Allow pop-ups for this site to preview..
The card shows the property name, the room name for a property with several rooms, the code, and the caption Scan for Wi-Fi & your stay in English, with the Albanian caption beneath it. It prints both whatever language you use, because the card stays in the room for every guest.
A property with a single room has one row, labeled with the property’s own name.
Replace a code
Section titled “Replace a code”Select Regenerate on a row that has a code, then confirm with Regenerate code. The dialog warns: Printed cards with the current code stop working at once and open a "not found" page. Print the new card and put it in the room straight away. Choose Keep current code to leave the card as it is.
Preview the portal
Section titled “Preview the portal”Under Preview, select Preview guest portal. It opens the real stay page of the property’s next confirmed arrival, in a new tab. The line under the button names that guest, the check-in date and the reference. With no confirmed upcoming booking the button is disabled, and you can still preview each room page from its row above.
Previewing does not count as the guest opening the portal. Anything you submit in the preview tab, such as an arrival time or a registration, is real and saved on the booking.Booking.com and Airbnb guests
Section titled “Booking.com and Airbnb guests”Booking.com: allow the portal's address.
Booking.com removes links from guest messages unless their address is allowed. In the Booking.com extranet, open Property → Messaging preferences → Security settings and add book.autohost.al.Airbnb: keep the portal optional. Airbnb guests must be able to stay without using another website. Keep the portal optional for them, and never ask an Airbnb guest to pay anywhere but Airbnb.
What happens next
Section titled “What happens next”Guests see the content you saved the next time they open their stay page or scan a room’s card. Edit the fields again at any time; a printed card keeps working until you regenerate its code or remove the room.
